Our Beliefs

We Believe

At Creekside it’s our desire to be an authentic community of Christ followers “Living Discipleship” together. We want to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, and be people who are grounded in the scriptures as we carry out what God is calling His Church to do. We are not part of a denomination, though many of our people and leadership came from a movement of autonomous churches commonly known as Churches of Christ. Simply put we are an independent, non-denominational Christian church with high values for scripture, deep theology, engaging worship, and Spirit-led discipleship. At Creekside Church, we understand that there will always be peripheral doctrines that will be open for interpretation and even in some cases disagreed upon, but the core beliefs of Christianity are non-negotiable.

God

We believe there is one God, who eternally exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Scripture

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and has final authority in our understanding of God and life.

Eternity

Jesus will return one day. Upon his return, a judgment of the world will be given and the image of God will be completely restored within us, and we will reign with Christ forever.

The Church

We believe the church is the body of Christ; literally the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way. The church is empowered by the Holy Spirit, and we have been called in order to be sent throughout the world living out a story of hope, power, and redemption.

Transformative Living

We believe that salvation is just the beginning. God ultimately is working to transform us into the image of Jesus. This journey is, and can only be, sustained by God’s grace and is empowered through God’s will.

Salvation

We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s sent son; who offered His righteous life in order to redeem us from sin. Jesus is the only means of salvation, and it is a free gift of God. Salvation is received through faith and expressed through confession, repentance, and baptism.
